So, who is this outfit called Nine Mill Scale Products?
and what does that logo mean??
| Nine Mill Scale Products is a small part time business owned and operated by Nelson Kennedy, from his home in Christchurch, New Zealand. Nelson has had a long interest in New Zealand railways modelling and was a pioneer manufacturer of 'cottage industry' products for S scale in the mid to late 1960s. Nelson is a chartered accountant by profession and retired from full time employment at the end of 2002. Because Nine Mill Scale Products has been very much a 'spare time' pursuit the time that has been available for product development was limited. Nelson is keen to maintain a high level of prompt service to his customers and makes that a higher priority than new product development. He is hopeful that, in retirement, he will be able to put more time into expanding his range of products. Time will tell! In retirement Nelson is also making himself available for custom assembly of kitset models of any manufacturer - not just his own, and has accepted some work for overseas clients as well as for some locals. And the logo? Nelson has a soft spot for brass loco number plates and has adopted the style of a smokebox front mounted plate as his logo. |
